Cookie Policy
Version 2026.2 ยท Last updated 8 August 2026
Short version: we set the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to stop forms being abused. We do not track you around the internet, and we do not sell anything about you.
What we set
- A session cookie, so that you stay signed in as you move between pages. It is removed when the session ends.
- A CSRF token cookie, which protects forms against being submitted from another site on your behalf.
- A "remember me" cookie, only if you ask us to keep you signed in.
These are strictly necessary for the service to work, so they do not require consent under the ePrivacy rules. You can block them in your browser, but you will not be able to sign in.
What we do not set
No advertising cookies. No third-party trackers. No analytics cookies, and no analytics company receives anything about you.
How we measure the site instead
We do measure how people get on, but on our own servers rather than in your browser. When you first arrive we record which site sent you โ the referring website's name only, such as a search engine or an AI assistant, never the full link you came from and never your IP address. If you go on to create an account, we keep that alongside it so we can tell which of our guides actually help people.
Once you have an account we also record the steps you reach, such as uploading records or locking a ledger, so we can see where the product is confusing. That is stored with your account, is never sold, and is never sent to anyone else.
